A bit of a different show where I pay tribute to one of my favourite basketballers - Brisbane born Tiana Mangakahia who sadly passed away at age 30 on 11 Sep following a 6 year battle with breast cancer. This tribute opens the show and features music from Caroline Polachek, Grant McLennan and Mega Fäuna. There's new music from Grace Turner, The Buoys, John Butler, Lucky, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and The Northern Folk. In recent shows I have played a few tracks from Mick Thomas. Here we delve into his extraordinary catalogue with Weddings Parties Anything featuring songs about small towns Walkerville, Rossarden and Yallourn (Industrial Town) as well as play a new track of his.

This week, Parlor Greens are new to us. Drawn to them because Jimmy James the Guitar  player was the guitar player with the Delvon  Lemarr Organ Trio, and Parlor Greens are also an organ trio. Mike Henderson has new releases for 2025 even though he is no longer still with us. September 5, 2025 7:42 pm  Peter Frampton and Warren Haynes are featured in a new episode of the PBS series The Art of Music, premiering on select stations starting Saturday, September 6. The show features Frampton being interviewed by and performing with the Gov’t Mule frontman and former Allman Brothers Band member in front an invite-only audience at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. That is how PF got a gig. Blooze is a tune from his first album with A&M and is an instrumental album, and I don’t need no doctor, was there because he tells a story about it and how it happened at a Soundcheck at Madison Square Garden. Hey Joe is from the Otis Taylor album recapturing the banjo. John Mayall & Albert Kiung tune comes from a lost album that John Mayall produced in 1971. Found in 186 when looking for something else. Isn't that always the way? Check them all out froggers, and remember to come on in and open up your mind.
